LIME could bring Asafa Powell here
as part of its CARIFTA Games campaign.
One school in the Cayman
Islands will win a $5,000 CARIFTA sports makeover based on a text
promotion as part of LIME’s CARIFTA School Sports Campaign.
One lucky school will also win a
visit from Olympic medallist Asafa Powell, currently the third-fastest man in
the world. A random selection from among the winning schools from each LIME
country will determine which lucky school will win “A Day with Asafa.”
The promotion is designed to give
greater visibility across the Caribbean to the
annual CARIFTA Games being held in Cayman. LIME, one of the Games’ sponsors,
aims to assist in financing Caribbean schools’
athletics programmes as well.
“These games are very important to
the sport of track and field in our region and are part of the building blocks
of the amazing reputation that the region enjoys internationally.” said Chris Dehring,
LIME Chief Marketing Officer.
“It is our hope that every secondary
school child is made aware of the CARIFTA games and of the importance it holds
for our future on the world stage of Track and Field.”
LIME has contributed $200,000 thus
far to sponsorship of the CARIFTA Games
