Playtime again in the Brac
8 September 2010

It’s playtime again for children attending the government-owned Cayman Brac Day Care Centre

The children have a new jungle gym, swings, slides and playhouse cottages recently handed over by Ministry of District Administration, Works, Land and Agriculture officials.  Hurricane Paloma had destroyed most of the day care’s already-worn playground apparatus.

“A critical part of childhood development entails the provision of adequate play time and the proper tools to use that time and grow,” said District Administration Minister Juliana O’Connor-Connolly.

“We therefore view this equipment as an important investment in our children’s and our country’s future.”

Thanking the ministry and all involved Daycare Supervisor Neila Jones noted that the equipment will assist in building the children’s motor skills.

“It’s such a win-win situation,” she said. “We are grateful to get these items but it is also pleasing just to see the kids’ joy as they use the new playground gear.”
