Marine Unit Trains to Save Lives
By: Simon Boxall
24th January, 2008

All Officers in the Marine Unit of Royal Cayman Islands Police Service will be trained in advanced first aid, CPR and lifeguarding skills.

So far seven officers have passed the American Red Cross courses which are being conducted by training instructor Mr. Peter Hughes. At the end of the course the officers receive an approved accreditation.

Cayman is the first country in the Caribbean region to embark on a programme to have all its Marine Officers trained in these life saving skills.
