Barry’s father, Hubert, began work in the heavy equipment and land clearing business in the 1960s. While growing up in the family business, Barry worked in several capacities, learning a lot from his father and helping to expand the business. Barry became managing director of Island Paving (1985) Ltd. in 1994 and continues in this capacity today.
Having a love for pets was a key factor in Barry forming another successful company, Animal House, in 2001, which has now become the largest pet store on Grand Cayman. Barry’s parents are now retired and Barry manages all four of the family businesses.
Barry was married in 1992 to Karyn Denise Pezold and has four children: David, 17; Kelsey, 15; Zachary, 9; and Laney 7. They reside in Newlands, Grand Cayman. Barry and his family are members of the Cayman Islands Baptist Church and Barry is an active supporter, volunteer and board member of the Cayman Islands Little League.
