David Kirkaldy graduated from Loyola University of New Orleans in 1992 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in English Literature and Public Relations. He started Massive Equipment Rental and Sales Ltd. with his wife, Christina, in 1998.

He also operates Fireworks Limited, a display fireworks company in Cayman; Safety Services Ltd, a safety training company; and Massive Media Ltd., an advertising sales representative company. He and his wife have been married for 16 years and they have two children, Ryan and Taylor.

His civic involvement is extensive and varied serving as the 40th president of the Rotary Club of Grand Cayman in 2005/6, and a director of Cayman Crime Stoppers. He is a 2011 graduate of Leadership Cayman.

David is a strong advocate for the plight of small to medium sized businesses and plans to place greater emphasis on this sector during his term. In his acceptance speech in November, he emphasised the essential role that SME’s play in fuelling Cayman’s economy.

“SME’s are the lifeblood of any economy Whatever we can do to support and elevate this sector is good for these businesses and by extension good for the economy.”
