World class masters tennis players are back next month.

Tennis fans get their annual treat when the Legends Championships resume at Cayman’s Ritz-Carlton soon.

Past world beaters like Jim Courier, Stefan Edberg, Marat Safin, Michael Chang, Aaron Krickstein and Jimmy Arias will be competing in the Dragon Bay Ultimate VIP tennis weekend from 5-7 November.

This is the third annual Legends Championships held here and the only professional tennis event in the Caribbean.  Past competitors here have included John McEnroe and Mats Wilander.

The event will be held at the The Courts at The Ritz-Carlton and the tournament is part of the International Champions Series which showcases the world’s greatest players of the past.

All players have to be over 35 and previously highly world ranked.

Courier will want to maintain his unbeaten record in Grand Cayman but the others will obviously be intent on breaking that sequence, so it should be an absolutely riveting tournament again.

The quarter-finals are on Friday, 5 November, the semis the next day and the finals on the Sunday.
