Did you know?

Located on Shedden Road just on the edge of downtown George Town, The Office Lounge is the perfect spot for anyone looking to make a quick escape from the office to, well, The Office. With indoor and outdoor seating, patrons can make the most of the weather, while still being able to claim that you are ‘at The Office’ without having to lie about your whereabouts. Just hope the clinking of a cool glass of Caybrew draught doesn’t give your location away.

The staff at The Office took part in the Cayman Islands Brewery’s Gold Member programme.

Bar Manager Kevin McGeough believes the experience was very valuable to the staff.

“It’s very important, because there’s nothing better than product knowledge,” says Kevin.

The knowledge passed on to the staff will allow them to explain the beer and know what it is about, according to Kevin.

“Rather than the customer coming in and just asking for a local beer, the bar staff can explain to them what kind of beer it is. It’s international publicity when someone goes back and tells the people back home about Caybrew,” he says.

The Gold Member programme aims to educate those who serve Caybrew on the origin of the beer and what makes Caybrew special. The programme includes a tour of the Cayman Islands Brewery, a talk on the brewing process, as well as instruction on how to pour that perfect pint. After all, even the best beer, if poured incorrectly, loses a little bit of what makes it special.

“It’s not just about how to pour it, it’s about knowledge of the beer and how it started,” says Kevin.

To experience how a Caybrew draught should be served, visit The Office Lounge, although doing so outside regular office hours might be your best bet, lest those clinking glasses betray your location.
