Tucked away in Pasadora Place off Smith Road is one of Cayman’s classic lunch spots.

Full of Beans Cafe has been around since 2004 and whether for sit down or takeout, the restaurant is a great healthy alternative.

The menu is characterised by salad and sandwiches, all made fresh and featuring as much local produce as possible.

“We don’t deep-fry anything. We don’t even do French fries,” says Martin Warren, general manager of Full of Beans.

Although the restaurant changes up its menu every couple of months, there are some classics that have remained an essential part of the restaurant.

According to Martin, the all-time favourite among customers is the roast turkey Panini with cranberry apple chutney. Full of Bean roasts its own turkey and makes its own chutney for a true made-from-scratch lunch experience – no shortcuts.

Another favourite is the healthy heart salad, which is certainly a pleasant surprise as it is a warm salad containing brown rice, avocado, chicken and cherry tomatoes.

Patrons can choose whether to enjoy their lunch on the shaded porch outside or in the restaurant, where the artwork displayed on the walls adds to the intimate atmosphere.

The restaurant also has a full-time pastry chef on staff and can provide birthday cakes, wedding cakes or made-to-order pastry on request.

Of course, the presence of a pastry chef makes it the ideal place to stop in for a cup of coffee as well.

Full of Beans also does sandwich platters for office functions, adding yet another string to its bow.

On Wednesdays, Full of Beans does a pizza flatbread special, while Fridays feature curries.

“We make use of the skills we have in the kitchen, so the day features authentic Indian, Thai or Jamaican curries,” says Martin.

Due to customer requests, Martin is planning to roll out an all-day breakfast on Saturday as well.   WH

Full of Beans is open from
7am to 3pm, Monday to Friday, and
