Brewing greener beer
TOPIC: Dining & Entertainment

Green beer may be a St. Patrick’s Day thing, but at Cayman Islands Brewery, being green has nothing to do with the colour of the beer and everything to do with keeping the Cayman Islands pristine.

From an advanced wastewater management system to providing spent grains to farmers to feed their cattle, the company behind Caybrew, CayLight and Ironshore Bock does everything possible to help the environment along.

This includes a bottle recycling programme, with the brewery encouraging people to return their empty bottles so these can be reused and don’t end up on the dump.

The brewery has also started using reusable crates rather than cartons wherever possible, thereby eliminating another waste element, saving trees and space on the dump in the process.

This means Cayman Islands Brewery produces a local beer Cayman can be truly proud of and one you can drink with a clear conscience, secure in the knowledge that you are doing your bit for the environment while doing so.
