Ride with the Pros: A unique opportunity to ride with 30 of the world’s top professional cyclists. The event starts at 9am from the Reef Resort in East End. The entry fee is $30 for the ride only, or $100 including a limited edition, autographed cycling shirt. For more information go to caymancycling.com

Evening with the Pros at Abacus in Camana Bay: Meet some of the world’s top professional cyclists, including World Champion Thor Hushovd and Commonwealth Games gold medallist David Millar. Evening includes food provided by Abacus and drinks courtesy of Piedra Wines and Caybrew, as well as a charity auction of cycling memorabilia to benefit the Cayman Islands Cancer Society. Cayman Islands Marathon: The Cayman Islands Marathon, Half-Marathon and 4-Person Relay all begin at 5am. The Kids Fun Run begins at 10:30am. The Marathon course is a loop course, with marathon runners completing two loops. Walkers are welcome to walk the half marathon as the course will be open for six hours. Evening Market: at Camana Bay with Christmas steel pan music as well as Christmas crafts for the kids and photos with Santa.

11 December
Jingle Bell 5k/10k Walk/Run: The run starts from Tiki Beach at 7am, with registration from 6am to 6.45am. For more information call the Jingle Bell hotline on 949-0366. All proceeds to benefit the women and children who access the Cayman Islands Crisis Centre.

Parade of Lights: at Camana Bay, with beautifully decorated boats gracefully gliding through the harbour in a riot of colourful lights. The evening will also feature Christmas carols as well as food and crafts on the Crescent.

12 December:

Christmas Family Brunch: in the Cayman Islands Royal Ballroom at The Ritz-Carlton, 11am-3pm. Dashing through the Sand beach run: Be part of one of the classic running events for a short run/walk down Seven Mile Beach. The event starts from the beach behind Grand Cayman Beach Suites at 7.30am, with registration from 6.30am.

31 December:
Ritz-Carlton: Cayman Nautica New Year’s Eve on Seven Mile Beach, form 7pm. Ring in 2011 with the sound of waves crashing in the distance at a New Year’s Eve Dinner and Beach Party under the stars. Cayman Nautica invites guests to revel in the seafaring nature f the Cayman Islands as they dine on a fusion of delicacies courtesy of the chefs at The Ritz-Carlton, while live musicians and a DJ takes you through to the New Year. Adults $250, Children (under 12) $75, including dinner, Champagne toast and entertainment.

Reef Resort: New Year’s Eve bash, with kids club from 6pm until after midnight with dinner, games, ‘mocktails’ and fun, tickets $50. For adults, Barefoot and Sea N B will be performing, plus food, cocktails, dancing and fireworks.

Macabuca: Great buffet with optional bottomless bubbles, dining under the start and music, $65 without bubbles or $90 with, including gratuity. Fireworks at midnight off the Ironshore.

Calico Jacks – BLT NYE: (black tie/lingerie/toga) with an incredible line up including a DJ coming down from New York, DJ Billy Corduroy and DJ Alexi playing the VIP tent.
