Anyone who has tried to dress their son in something fashionable will know two things – it can be tough to get boys to put on any clothing whatsoever, and finding something fashionable can b e even tougher.
There always seems to be plenty of clothing for little girls, but unless you are a fan of cartoon characters, the selections for boys can be rather limited – just a couple of shirts and shorts in some hue of blue, hidden in a remote corner of the store.
Rather than grumble about it, Antoleen Williams decided there was room in the marketplace for a store that catered for moms who wanted to dress their boys up in good-looking fashion, rather than just envy all the moms with fashionable little girls.
The result of Antoleen’s resolve is Partial to Blue, a store specialising in the latest fashions for young boys. The store caters primarily for boys from six months to six years, although Antoleen has found many moms looking for something for slightly older boys as well, and has started carrying clothes for boys up to 12 years of age.
The clothing at the store is good quality, highly fashionable wear for boys, from shoes to hats and everything in between. Partial to Blue has many high end brands like Fore!! Axel and Hudson, a stylish, golf inspired line that has some seriously cool kit for boys. Many of the items are made from a combination of sustainable bamboo and spandex, resulting in a garment that not only looks great, but also wears well.
The layout of the store leaves lots of room for moving about – extremely important when you keep in mind that the clientele includes moms to be, moms with strollers, and of course a selection of restless young lads who show no real interest in fashion.
Fortunately there is a play area for restless tots, with educational toys, a rocking horse and two massive teddy bears. There are also couches for exhausted moms, or disinterested dads, as well as a selection of fashionable items for mom, so mom can spoil herself a little bit as well, since you never know when the youngsters will let you leave home again.
