One, two, three....cheese! Gone are the days of the rather stiff, contrived, family portraits, with each person carefully positioned, dressed in their smartest outfits, with not a hair out of place.
At Picture This, a portrait photo session - whatever the occasion - is entirely personalised, and there is no set formula. The subjects wear whatever they feel comfortable in, young children may bring a favourite toy or adults might include something that reflects their interests. Rebecca Davidson and her team of photographers will take the time to talk with their clients, to get a sense of their style and character and set up photo shoots accordingly. Whether the sessions are shot in the on-site studio at Picture This’s full service photographic centre, or on location, all the clients need do is relax, act naturally and have fun.
The results are far more than mere photos: they are images that capture personalities and atmosphere, that tell a story. It could be three teenagers with just the top half of their faces showing above their laptops; the tiny feet of a new born baby, or young boys running down the beach. Simple spontaneity adds more to these photos than any amount of styling could.
Portraits need no longer jostle for space on a crowded mantelpiece or bookshelf. With modern printing and framing options, Picture This can turn a favourite photo into a talking point, the feature of a room. These stories-in-pictures can be presented in any number of ways: grouped into series or as individual shots; they can be printed on paper, canvas or aluminium sheets; in standard sizes or as 5 by 8 foot centrepieces. Once the photographers have selected and edited their shots, clients can attend a session where they view the photos on the big screen and decide what they want printed and how. Some clients even go so far as to send in photos of a room in the house they wish to decorate, so that the professionals at Picture This can create photos to fit into the style and colour scheme of a room.
Printing and framing is all done on site - with options that go way beyond the traditional silver or wooden photo frame - making it a simple one stop shop for the customer, but one from which they can walk away with a piece of art that truly captures a moment in their lives.
