For the dad who has it all

With Father’s Day coming up, there are the fortunate few who are stuck with a terrible problem – their dad really has it all. Fortunately, What’s Hot has gone hunting on the web and found a couple of gifts we’re quite certain even the dad who has it all will appreciate.

For the golfers
If your dad is completely and utterly obsessed with golf, why not give him a book on golf for Father’s Day? Sound too mundane? This is not just any golf book though – this is the golf book, named, relatively unimaginatively, Golf.

Based on the design of a 14th Century medieval bible, the book truly is the final word in excess.
The luxury edition, which is limited to 10 copies globally, is handmade, measures over a metre in width and almost half a metre in height. It weighs over 100 pounds, and is bound using 400 year old Russia hide, recovered by a marine salvage operation.

The book is comprised of 18 chapters and the 140 art pieces are hand printed onto museum archive grade paper with hand-torn edges,

According to the creators, “the authors mission has been to create a satirical, informed and artistic work of prose and art, designed to capture the true spirit of the game, from its formative growth, through to the realities of the recent financial depression, and on towards new horizons.”

Colin Montgomerie served as the resident professional for the publication, with contributions from over 50 of the World’s most prominent course architects, swing and biomechanical coaches, as well as contributions from industry professionals within the game, as well as celebrities from other creative backgrounds.

And with prices starting at £30,000, it is definitely only for those who came through the aforementioned financial crisis without feeling too much of a pinch. For those who miss out on the limited edition, or are just too cheap, a collector’s edition will also be made available for £350.

Artful automobiles
Although not all dads are into golf, cars are a universal favourite. So how about some car art to decorate the home or office? Have we found the gift for you!

An engineer by trade, Robert Guelpen has made a name for himself creating meticulously detailed model cars. However, some might see his latest creation as just a little bit over the top. It is a $4.8 million dollar creation. Yes, a model car that will set you back more than a garage full of Italian supercars.

According to the creator, the materials used in the creation of this masterpiece alone is worth $2.7 million dollars. This includes components made of platinum, gold, sterling silver, and a vast array of precious stones.

Music lovers
As cool as iPods are, the speaker systems designed for them always seems to leave something to be desired. What if you want a speaker that goes to 11?

Well, if your dad likes it loud, the Wall of Sound might just do the trick. Say goodbye to portable iPod speakers – this 225 pound, three foot by four foot behemoth will blow your socks off (and quite possibly any other items of clothing not nailed down)

At a ‘mere’ $4,500, it should make you glad your dad is not into golf or cars.

Taming Cayman traffic
Of course, some people would rather have a practical gift than something frivolous. So for the practical dad, we present the Mercedes-Benz of helicopters.

For those who would rather soar over traffic than be stuck in it, Eurocopter and Mercedes Benz have teamed up to bring you a luxury version of the EC145 helicopter (as if owning a helicopter is not enough of a luxury). With wooden floors and ceiling, leather seats and interior lighting and finishes inspired by the S-class Mercedes, you can decide to live in the tranquillity of Little Cayman and commute to work in Grand Cayman every morning in absolute style. Imagine parking one of these in the office car park.
