Aqua Beach

There are a couple of spots up and down the Seven Mile Strip that have stuck around and become the go-to spots for anyone looking for a familiar face in a great location. Aqua Beach is definitely one of these spots.

“Aqua Beach has been here for a long time, and I’ve been coming here since Hurricane Ivan,” says Jasmin ‘Yaz’ Muratagic, the manager at Aqua Beach.

Although he only took over the reigns as manager recently, Yaz has a very clear idea of where he wants to see his favourite spot.

“I took over two months ago as manager with the agenda to put it back on the map where it belongs, strong and heavy,” he says.

“It has great staff, great food, great atmosphere and is in a great spot,” says Yaz.

He believes that the changes he is bringing in will keep the regulars coming back, while at the same time making Aqua Beach well worth a visit for those looking for a new spot to hang out.

“We’re next to Jett nightclub, which is great because now you can come and party here up to 1 o’clock and then sneak up to Jett or O bar and continue your party. It’s the same crew, same staff, and friendly faces that everybody recognises,” he says.

Of course, a big part of Yaz’s formula for success is serving up local beers.

“One of our main beers that we sell the most is Caybrew, the White Tip or the Ironshore Bock. It is a great tasting beer and we have great feedback from the customers as well,” says Yaz.

With a range of beers now including everything from the original Caybrew to a light beer in CayLight, a dark beer in Ironshore Bock and the perfect summer beer in White Tip Lager, the Cayman Islands Brewery has certainly come a long way from the first batch of Caybrew. WH
